TITLE:
Donor Relations Coordinator (Full-Time)
REPORTS
TO:
Development Director
PRIMARY
FUNCTION:
The
Donor Relations Coordinator will work collaboratively with the
Development, Finance and Special Events departments to coordinate all
data entry functions for The ALS Association, Greater Los Angeles
Chapter (ALSA-GLAC). This
person is key to maintaining and updating an accurate donor database.
Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge and be an
organized, focused individual with meticulous attention for details and
numbers. Training will be
provided as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain
and update all donor records. Accountable
for proper batching and coding of contributions.
- Ensure
donor and gift information are accurately entered into donor
database and appropriate acknowledgment letters are generated and
sent on a timely basis.
- Work
collaboratively with the Director of Development to update donor
files and input prospective donors.
- Process
all types of donor gifts and pledges by data entry.
- Assist
as necessary with the production of special events (i.e., entering
attendees into the database, stuffing event packets, etc.).
- Process
bank deposits.
- Other
duties as identified by the Director of Development, the Finance
Director, and Special Events Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High
school diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
- A
minimum of one year of experience in a nonprofit environment,
specifically performing data-entry.
Experience using office equipment such as copier, fax, etc. Familiarity with bank deposits helpful.
- Working
knowledge of computers (MicroSoft Word and Excel) and databases.
- Willingness
to learn about fundraising techniques and sources of funding for
nonprofit agencies and organizations.
- Previous
experience dealing with customers or volunteers and in solving
problems.
- Solid
verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
- Team
player with an ability to meet deadlines and shift priorities as
needed.
- Self-starter,
eager to demonstrate initiative and not requiring excessive
supervision.
- A
good sense of humor.
